East Jackson Street

With the growing community and pedestrian traffic to and from the existing elementary school, renovation to the existing two-lane asphalt street was necessary to accommodate public safety. Working closely with the City of Medford Engineering Department, we designed the realignment of the existing 30’ wide, two-lane roadway to minimize congestion at the intersections of Sunrise Avenue and Hillcrest Drive, allowing East Jackson Street to be the main through street. Because of the high traffic volume using this road, left turn pockets were added for the low volume cross street and a signal was introduced at the intersection of Sunrise Avenue and Jackson street.
This project consisted of more than 2100 linear feet of roadway improvements including curb and sidewalk. Also, a storm drain system was designed to accommodate a 10-year storm event and the required detention thereof.
