Medford, Oregon is located on Interstate 5 about 30 miles north of the California border. It is the County Seat and largest town in Jackson County. The climate is not what most people think of Oregon, "rain". It is similar to Northern California around Redding and Napa. The average temperature during January is 37.6º F and in July 72.5º F. Elevation is 1382 at Medford. Annual precipitation is 19.84 inches. The population of Jackson County is 168,000 and it covers 2,801 square miles. Outdoor recreation abounds in the area including such activities as golfing, biking, hiking, fishing, hunting, water and snow skiing, rafting, snowmobiling, boating, and many more. We are surrounded by mountains of which most are in public lands.

The following is a list of available positions for Engineering and Surveying

Civil Engineering Inspector, BS degree or equivalent experience required. Must be able to work well with a team and clients, and must be able to work under limited supervision. Also must be in good health and have a valid Oregon drivers license. Duties include: inspection of public works projects, conducting and attending preconstruction meetings, administration of construction contracts, coordination with design engineer and client, preparation of daily reports, verification of certified payroll reports, process construction change orders, and other related work items. Projects may include storm drainage, water systems, sanitary sewer, streets, storm detention, parking lots, and grading and paving. Anticipated annual salary range is $33,000- $45,000, plus benefits. Part time work may be available.

Civil Engineer, We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in public works projects. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Oregon is preferred. Must be able to supervise other staff and work well with clients and public agencies. Also must be proficient using AutoCAD Land Development Desktop. Duties include: preparation of storm drainage, water, sanitary sewer, street, storm detention, parking lot, grading and paving, erosion control, and other related plans, preparation of bid documents, coordination of plan approvals, administration of construction contracts, preparation of budgets and contracts, and other related civil engineering duties. Anticipated annual salary range is $45,000- $60,000, plus benefits.

Civil Engineering Technician, 3-5 years minimum experience in public works projects. Must be able to work well with a team and clients, and be proficient using AutoCAD Land Development Desktop, Release 2i. Duties include: preparation of storm drainage, water, sanitary sewer, street, storm detention, parking lot, grading and paving, erosion control, and other related plans, preparation of bid documents, coordination of plan approvals, inspection of work in progress, administration of construction contracts, and other related civil engineering duties.

Project Surveyor, 5-7 years minimum experience with boundary, topographic, construction surveying, and project management. Candidate should have knowledge of AutoCAD and LDD2i along with thorough GPS/RTK surveying and processing background.

Party Chief, 3-5 years minimum of crew supervision. Requires experience with AutoCAD and LDD2i, Road's programs and data collectors (SDR 33 preferably). GPS/RTK surveying and processing experience desirable.

Instrument Person, 2 years minimum experience, or college classes in Engineering/Surveying, running total stations and data collectors.
